4 Pumpkin-Themed Recipes to Make this Fall

It’s that time of the year. The dog days of summer have passed, and the crisp, cool weather has finally found its way to our calendar. There is nothing better than curling up with a warm cup of something and of course, pumpkin-themed goodies!

Here are a few must-try recipes that’ll keep you warm and full this fall.

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies

You might love the combination of pumpkin and chocolate but when they come together in a cookie, it’s even better. Check out this recipe from Just Feed Me from Jessie James Decker!

  • 1 cup canned unsweetened pumpkin puree
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup canola or vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon salt 1½ cups semisweet chocolate chips

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or coat with cooking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, stir together the pumpkin puree, sugar, oil, vanilla, milk, and egg. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Add the flour mixture to the pumpkin mixture and mix until a soft dough forms. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  3. Working in batches, scoop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared pan and smooth over any rough edges. I like mine bite-size to be able to fit in the palm of my hand.
  4. Bake until the cookies just begin to brown, about 10 minutes. Repeat with the remaining dough.
  5. Cool cookies slightly before moving them to a wire rack to cool completely. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 3 to 5 days.

The Classic Pumpkin Pie

Nothing says “fall” like a slice of warm pumpkin pie on a chilly evening. Apart from being a must-have at Thanksgiving, you can prepare a pumpkin pie anytime this fall season.

Want a quick and easy pumpkin pie recipe? This recipe from Pillsbury will do the trick.

  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 can (15 oz) pumpkin (not pumpkin pie mix)
  • 1 1/4 cups evaporated milk or half and half
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 crust from 1 package (12 oz) of frozen Pillsbury™ Deep Dish Pie Crusts (2 Count)

  1. Heat oven to 425°F.
  2. In a large bowl, beat sugar, pumpkin pie spice, salt, pumpkin, evaporated milk, and eggs with a wire whisk until well blended. Place frozen pie crust onto a cookie sheet. Pour filling into pie crust. Place filled pie crust on a cookie sheet into the preheated oven.
  3. Bake 15 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 350°F; bake 40 to 50 minutes longer or until knife inserted near center comes out clean. Cool on a cooling rack for at least 2 hours. Serve or refrigerate until serving time. Store in refrigerator.

4-Step Pumpkin Bread Recipe

Pumpkin bread is great for breakfast or a snack. It’s easy to make and pairs nicely with your morning cup of coffee. Try this recipe from Food Network, and you’ll have a tasty fall treat.

  • Unsalted butter, for the pans
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for the pan (see Cook’s Note)
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • One 15-ounce can of pure pumpkin puree
  • 2 teaspoons fine salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 2/3 cup water

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Butter and flour two 9-by-5-inch loaf pans.
  2. Whisk together the sugar and oil in a large bowl until well combined. Whisk in the eggs and pumpkin until combined.
  3. Combine the flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder, nutmeg, allspice, cinnamon, and cloves in a medium bowl and whisk until well combined. Add half the dry ingredients to the pumpkin mixture and stir to combine. Add half the water and stir to combine. Repeat with the remaining flour and water.
  4. Divide the batter between the prepared loaf pans. Bake until the cake tester comes out clean and the loaves are golden brown, about 1 hour. Let the loaves cool in the pans on a wire rack for 10 minutes. Remove from the pans and let cool completely, about 1 hour.

Cook’s Note:

When measuring flour, we spoon it into a dry measuring cup and level off the excess. (Scooping directly from the bag compacts the flour, resulting in dry baked goods.)

If you need some new ideas, try one of these recipes – they’re bound to fill your belly and warm your home during the chilly fall months.

Pumpkin Spice Cookies

These cookies are a great way to kick off the pumpkin season. They’re soft and moist with just a hint of spice in every bite. If you’re looking for something new to try this year, these are it!

Check out this recipe from Just So Tasty and enjoy these yummy goodies!

  • 2 and 1/2 cups all-purpose flour , spooned and leveled
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 3/4 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoons ground cloves
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter , softened to room temperature
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1/2 cup canned pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling)

For the Cinnamon Sugar Coating

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon

  1. Whisk together the flour, cornstarch, cream of tartar, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg & ground cloves.
  2. In a separate large bowl beat together the butter and sugars until fluffy. Turn the mixer down to low, then beat in the egg, vanilla and pumpkin.
  3. Slowly add the flour mixture. The dough will be very sticky.
  4. Cover the bowl with clingfilm and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or up to 2 days.
  5. When ready to bake, take the dough out of the fridge.
  6. Preheat the oven to 350F degrees and line 2 cookie trays with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
  7. In a small bowl, whisk together the sugar and cinnamon for the cinnamon sugar coating.
  8. Form the dough into balls of about 1.5 tablespoons in size, then roll in the cinnamon sugar coating and flatten slightly
  9. Place the cookies on the cookie sheets about 2 inches apart.
  10. Bake for about 8-10 minutes until the tops look just set.

We hope you have a wonderful fall season and enjoy baking these treats with your friends and family!

3 Festive Ways to Decorate Your Entryway This Halloween

For decor enthusiasts, there’s more to Halloween than costumes, jack o’ lanterns, and candy corn. The right Halloween decorations can get your home into the spooky spirit and show off your personal style.

If you’re looking to dress up your home this Halloween, consider starting with your entryway. This area of your home will be seen by friends, family, and trick-or-treaters, so giving it a Halloween makeover is the perfect way to set the tone for a spooktacular holiday season.

At ReadyFestive, we offer three Halloween-themed boxes filled with decor items that will make boo-tifying your entryway as easy as pumpkin pie. Here’s a look into our three Halloween boxes and some tips for styling a festive yet classy entryway using the items in each box.

#1: Spooky Skulls & Spikes

Halloween, but make it rock n’ roll—that’s the inspiration behind this skull-and-spikes theme. This theme is perfect for those who want their Halloween decor to look spooky, trendy, and a little punk rock without being garish. This box features skulls galore, a Valentino-inspired spiked pumpkin, and a black, silver, and white color palate.

Here are some tips for decorating your entryway with the items in this box:

  • Deck out your entry table: Create a spooky welcoming by placing your black candlesticks, spiky pumpkin, pumpkin spice candle, “Home Sweet Haunted Home” sign, and spells box on a tabletop near your front door. Check out these decked out tabletops below for inspiration!
  • Pull up a chair: Move a small chair into your entryway to rest your skeleton throw pillow on. Placing a basket filled with black and white pumpkins next to the feet of the chair would also be a nice touch.
  • Hang a banner: Hang your “Beware” banner on the wall over your entry table, or hang it from the table itself.

#2: Glam Halloween

If spooky isn’t your style and you’d rather keep things looking a bit more sleek and stylish, our Glam theme is the way to go. This theme, which features a black and gold color palette, is ideal for those who enjoy shimmer and chicness.

Here are some tips for decorating your entryway with the items in this box:

  • Style your entry table: Use your black table runner as a base for an arrangement of translucent gold pumpkins, black and gold trees, and candles on a tabletop. If you want to up the fancy factor even more, light extra candles and use tea lights to light up the interior of your pumpkins.
  • Boo-tify your space: Hang or drape your “Boo” sign/beads nearby and pull up a chair to place your “Happy Halloween” pillow on.
  • Trick out your entryway: Incorporate the “Tricks or Treats” sign by setting it next to a bowl of treats. Who doesn’t love being greeted with a bowl of candy at the door?!

#3: Sweet Halloween

Looking for decor that is fun, festive, and kid-friendly? Look no further than our Sweet theme. Featuring stripes, polka dots, a jolly jack o’ lantern, and a more classic orange and black color palette, this theme doesn’t have a scary bone in its body.

Here are some tips for decorating your entryway with the items in this box:

  • Give your entry table a fun makeover: Lay the striped table runner on a tabletop and top it with the jack o’ lantern, candy corn figurine, Halloween beads, and cider candle. You can also hang the “Boo” banner from the table or on the wall above the table.
  • Offer sweet treats: Set the pumpkin-shaped bowls on a tabletop in your entryway and fill them with candy or homemade goodies. Be sure to leave the “Happy Halloween” napkins next to the bowls for your guests. There’s no sweeter welcome!
  • Add a spooky touch: Set a ghost or skeleton stuffed animal on a chair in your entry and place the “Boo!” pillow next to it. This adds a spooky element while remaining kid-friendly.

Bonus: A Halloween Recipe Your Guests Will Die For

If you’re looking for a festive yet tasty treat to put out on a tray or bowl in your entryway, we found just the thing: brownie spiders! These creepy-crawly treats dreamed up by Gimme Some Oven are sure to be enjoyed by children and adults alike.

What You’ll Need:

·  1 pan of baked brownies

·  1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips

·  2 cups chow mein noodles

·  Candy eyeballs

·  Circle cookie cutter (about 1.5-inch diameter)

·  A toothpick

  1. Use a circle cookie cutter to cut out circles for the spider “bodies.” Place the bodies on wax paper for prep.
  2. Put the chocolate chips in a medium-sized bowl and melt them in the microwave. Then, remove 1 tablespoon of the melted chocolate and set it aside.
  3. Gently stir the chow mein noodles into the remaining melted chocolate until all of the noodles are coated. Spread the noodles out on a plate covered with wax paper (you don’t need to separate them completely), and put them in the freezer for about 10 minutes.
  4. Once chilled, remove the chocolate-covered noodles and pick out some long ones to use as the spider “legs.” Use a toothpick to poke eight holes on the top of the brownie circles around the edges and press the noodles into the holes.
  5. Take the tablespoon of melted chocolate you set aside and use the toothpick to transfer a dot of melted chocolate to the back of each candy eye (this acts as the “glue”). Place the eyes on the front of the brownie circles.
  6. Transfer your spider brownies to a serving tray or plate and set them out on your entry table. They also keep for up to four days when covered.

Fall Decorating Ideas for a Beautiful Autumn Home

When brisk weather returns, leaves start changing color, and pumpkin spice lattes appear on coffee shop menus, you know it’s officially time to welcome Fall in all its glory. And while nature is working its magic outside, it’s up to you to bring the #FallVibes indoors with autumn-inspired decor.

At ReadyFestive, we deliver Fall-themed boxes filled with trendy decorations you can use to give your indoor spaces that crisp yet cozy Fall feeling.

Here’s a peek into our three Fall boxes and some tips for styling “insta-worthy” indoor spaces using the items in each box.

#1: Retro Amber & Brown Fall

The themes we saw earlier this year at our yearly home decor trade show are undoubtedly coming to life this Fall. Using inspo from the show, we put together this Retro Amber & Brown Fall box, which is brimming with on-trend Fall goodies that will add the perfect boho, retro touch to your indoor spaces.

Here are some tips for decorating in a way that will have you and your guests falling in love with this season!

  • Go retro: Home design is a revolving door. Trends that make an exit often return years later. Such is the case with retro decor. In this box, you’ll find retro items with a modern twist, perfect for reviving classic 70’s style.
  • Play with texture: Texture is everywhere this year. Add some dimension to your indoor spaces by utilizing a variety of textures—homey linens, woven table runners, cane decor, beads, earthy wooden pieces, velvety throws. The combinations are infinite!
  • Embrace browns: Earthy tones are in this year, especially during the Fall season. Browns, in particular, are having a moment, as are shades of beige, off-white, and amber (all of which can be found in this themed box!). Natural colors are far from boring and beautifully represent outdoor elements like Fall foliage and rolling hills.

#2: Blue & White Farmhouse

Who says Fall decor has to stick to a color scheme of browns, oranges, and reds? Blue is in this year! Experimenting with non-traditional Fall color schemes is a fun way to change things up and stand out. We focused on blue, white, and taupe in this year’s fall box.

Here are some tips for decorating in a way that will get you excited for the clear blue skies and cool nights of harvest season:

  • Show off your hello fall sign: Make sure to take advantage of your gorgeous hello fall sign. Place it where it will be seen, whether that’s on a tabletop near your front door or even on the corner of a mantle. Surround it with other items, like candles or pumpkins.
  • Leverage a pedestal: You can use a pedestal piece to emphasize your any fall arrangement, whether you’re using real or artificial pumpkins, candles, beads, or even a simple flower arrangement. We love the look of adding beads to a tabletop. It’s an excellent way to add texture to your decor. You can also wrap them around a vase or lay them on top of a tray or coffee table book. This box comes with two strings of beads to get creative with.
  • Utilize patterns & prints: Incorporating different patterns and prints into your decor can add depth, creativity, and diversity to your space. This farmhouse box is brimming with different patterns and prints, from stripes to plaid to foliage, that perfectly complement each other.

#3: Crisp Orange & White Fall

Crisp whites with pops of orange make for a fresh, classic Fall color scheme. Whether you plan to stay cozy inside with your family or host a fall-themed gathering for a game or dinner party, the items in this box will help you create the perfect backdrop for relishing this time of year.

Here are some decorating tips you can apply using the decor in the Crisp Orange & White Fall box:

  • Add orange accents: From pumpkins to pumpkin pies, some of the best Fall classics are orange. Add bright orange accents around your home using cocktail napkins, hand towels, a white-and-orange-checkered tablecloth, or a playful garland.
  • Bring the outdoors in: Bring the great outdoors into your living space with potted plants and pumpkins. Festive gourds and fresh greenery can breathe life into a room. Not to mention, looking at anything nature-related has been shown to reduce stress![*
  • Deck out your mantle: From “FALL” standing letters (complete with an adorable leaf as the “A”) to a pumpkin spice candle to a glittering brown wood leaf, this box has everything you need to get your mantle Fall-ready.

Styling Tip: How to Decorate with Pumpkins of Varying Sizes, Textures, and Colors

Nothing is more quintessential Fall than pumpkins. That’s why every ReadyFestive themed box includes one! Check out our top tips for decorating with pumpkins below:

  • Line pumpkins on your mantle. Placing pumpkins on top of books on your mantle adds an extra cute touch.
  • Place a few different-sized pumpkins in the center of your dining table as a centerpiece.
  • Place pumpkins on bookshelves, console tables, the coffee table, or the kitchen island.
  • Stack different-sized pumpkins on top of each other for visual interest (to do this, get pumpkins without stems or remove them).
  • Nestle a small pumpkin in the wreath on your front door.
  • Cut out a circular hole in the top of a pumpkin and place a candle in it.
  • Place pumpkins in a rattan basket with some greenery. This makes for a great centerpiece for your dining or coffee table.
  • Place pumpkins on your front porch for a festive welcome.

Simple Ways to Decorate for the 4th of July

It’s almost time to bust out the picnic blankets, grills, and sparklers for another 4th of July celebration! Whether you’re considering hosting a casual backyard BBQ, an intimate indoor gathering, or something in between, no 4th of July celebration is complete without star-spangled decorations.

At Readyfestive, we offer 4th of July themed boxes and several patriotic add-ons that you can use to add some red, white, and blue to your indoor and outdoor areas. Here’s a look at our 4th of July decorations and some tips for styling the perfect space to celebrate America’s independence.

What’s Your 4th of July Vibe?

Our two 4th of July themed boxes— Modern and Farmhouse— are brimming with super-cute goodies that are sure to take your gathering to the next level.

If you’re a fan of classic designs and clear, crisp colors, the Modern theme is for you.

If, on the other hand, you love rustic, classic charm, the Farmhouse theme is your perfect match.

Whichever option you choose, here are some ideas for decorating with the items in the themed boxes.

Deck Out Your Picnic Table

No 4th of July gathering is complete without a well-decorated picnic table.

  • Lay your table runner across your table length-wise.
  • Choose a centerpiece—the red, white, and blue roses bouquet in the Modern box or the flag bouquet in the Farmhouse box are great options.
  • Pepper the table with standing letters, signs, stars, candles, patriotic gnomes (how adorable are those!?), or any other decorations you wish.
  • Hang a banner from the corners of the table, so it hangs down in front.
  • Sprinkling some 4th of July confetti on the table is a nice finishing touch.

Decorate Your Mantle

Most 4th of July celebrations take place outside, but many people enjoy ending the night indoors with a movie or an after-dinner beverage. To keep the patriotic spirit alive indoors, decorate your fireplace mantle with the standing letters, signs, and candles in your themed box. For a nice added touch, hang a festive cloth napkin from the mantle using one of the signs as a weight, as seen in the picture below.

Add Finishing Touches with Festive Add-Ons

So, you’ve decorated your space with the items in your themed box, but feel like you’re missing a finishing touch? That’s where our add-ons come in, which can be purchased with or without a subscription. Here are some additional styling tips inspired by the add-ons in our shop:

Summer Styling Inspiration

Who’s ready to start decorating for summer? Let’s get creative and see what we’re working with!

How to Style Wood Links

Love the look of wood links, but not exactly sure what to do with them? Don’t worry. We’ve got you. Here are 2 ideas to style your wood link.

Use it as a Statement Piece

Because we are all about taking the hassle out of decorating, finding a simple statement item to fill a space is always a great idea. A wood link makes the perfect filler for any empty table top.

Whether you’re looking to style a room that is full of fluff and decor or a more sleek, modern space, a wood link works very well alone. See for yourself below!

You don’t even need anything else. Yes, sometimes, decorating can be that easy.

Use it as a Focal Piece in a Centerpiece

If you’re naturally crafty or enjoy spending time finding the right items that go together to decorate, use your wood link to build a centerpiece.

Your large wood link can be the focal object on your coffee or kitchen table. Next, you can pull together complimentary items to fill in your table. Here are a few ideas that pair nicely.

  • Add a selection of small potted plants around your wood link.
  • Incorporate faux greenery, moss, or flowers with your wood link.
  • Drape wood beads around your wood link.
  • Stack a few coffee table books and use them to support one half of your wood link.

How to Get the Most Out of Your Tiered Tray

There are a few reasons why we love tiered trays. One of them being that they are a great essential to have on hand. A tiered tray can serve several purposes- from serving horderves or baked goods to being a place for styling your seasonal decor.

Once you own one tiered tray, you can continually update it for seasons and holidays! For example, see how well this Summer’s bee theme decor items fit?

A few tips for styling your tiered tray

  1. Use stackable items
  2. Play with different heights and sized items
  3. Don’t be afraid to add in more elements, even if they don’t fit on the tray
  4. Use common household items to support your decor- a mug works great!

We recommend placing your tray on a tabletop near an entryway. It’s a great way to make sure it gets seen and enjoyed by anyone who steps into your home.

Creative Ways to Use a Table Runner

This year’s coastal themed box includes this adorable blue table runner.

Your runner doesn’t have to go to your kitchen table. You can style it on your island, coffee table, TV console table, or even an outdoor table. Check out how we worked with the other items in the coastal themed box to create this beautiful tablescape.

The golden rule with our table runner is to keep the decor you pair with it on the smaller side- you don’t want to cover it up.

Here are a few more tips for styling your table runner.

  1. If you’re using a tablecloth as well, make sure to choose a color that pairs well with the blue runner.
  2. Mixing in patterned blue hand towels or napkins is a great way to compliment the fabric and add more to this look!
  3. Already have a centerpiece? Place the runner underneath to emphasize a focal point.
  4. You don’t have to lay your runner horizontally. If you love the look, add a few more to lay down vertically across the table. It’s okay to mix and match a few colors as long as you think they go well together!

How to Style Rectangular and Circular Trays

You might have noticed that each of our Summer themed boxes include trays this year. Why? Because similar to the tiered tray, they are perfect for supporting your decor and festivities this summer! Use them to hold different items or to serve drinks and snacks at your next patio party.

Here are a few creative ways to use your tray:

Use it as an ice tray to keep frozen snacks, drinks, or treats extra cool in the summer heat.

We think the rainbow boxes’ wine glasses look great paired with a simple blue tray, just add a little ice to keep your beverage cool. Check out our summer popsicle recipe for an idea too.

The bee themed tray would also work nicely outside at your next patio party. Try incorporating candles, pictures, or tea lights.

Bring your tray indoors and simply use it to compliment the items in your box.

For example, this coastal themed tray looks great matched with a small plant, wood link, and large candle. It would suit your kitchen table or coffee table very well.

Another great way to bring your tray to life indoors and create a peaceful setting is by adding candles to it in varying heights. If you want to do more than candles, add a woodlink or wood beads. Here’s an example:

Have any other ideas? We’d love to see them. Remember to share how you style your wood link, trays, and table runner with us on social media.

3 Ways to Style the Perfect Summer Patio

Including Hosting Tips & Tricks

Longer days, warmer weather, and time spent outside with friends and family. That’s right—we’re talking about summer! The sunniest season is right around the corner, and if you’re anything like us, you’re itching to break out the BBQ, play some yard games, enjoy s’mores around the fire pit, and host outdoor dinner parties with your favorite people.

One fun and easy way to get in the summer spirit and prepare for the season is decorating your patio. Summer decor can instantly elevate your outdoor space, making it feel more comfortable, welcoming, and enjoyable for kids and adults alike.

To spark some summer decor inspiration, here’s a sneak peek at our three themes for summer boxes—Bees, Coastal, and Rainbow—and some tips for styling the perfect summer patio using the items in each box.

#1: Bees

While you certainly don’t want real bees to join your patio party, bee decorations can offer the perfect cheerful touch to your outdoor space. With their bright yellow color and undeniable connection to blooming flowers and sunny days, bees make for the perfect summer theme.

Here are some tips for decorating your patio in a way that will create a buzz at your next gathering:

  • Use comfy pillows: Placing yellow and bee-themed pillows on your patio couch or chairs is a great way to add comfort and summer cheer to your outdoor area.
  • Decorate with yellow blooms: Yellow-colored potted plants and flowers make for eye-catching table decorations, as they instantly add color and personality to your space. They don’t even have to be real! Artificial potted plants require zero maintenance and still look great.
  • Display cute signs: Signs, wooden blocks, or banners with bee-related sayings like “love and bee loved” or “bee happy” are great for creating a welcoming and charming atmosphere. Place these signs on side tables or the main table.
  • Hang a banner: Hanging a bee-themed banner above your patio door or between trees is a super-easy way to add some whimsy to your patio space.
  • Incorporate bee-utiful candles: Candles are a beautiful addition year-round. Use bee-themed candles to add a flicker of magic to your table decor.
  • Use a tiered tray: Trays like this one are great for staggering different decor items. See how we styled one below with these bee-themed items:

#2: Coastal

Nothing screams summer more than taking a dip in the ocean and sinking your toes into the sand. Bring those cool, calm, summery feelings to your own backyard by decorating your patio with coastal-themed items. Whether you have a beach or lake house, or live nowhere near a body of water, eye-catching coastal accessories can make your patio feel like a calming oasis.

Here are some tips for decorating your patio in a way that will make major waves:

  • Stick to a color palette: To play to the coastal theme, choose a beach-inspired color palette that includes whites, grays, beige/gold, and various shades of blue.
  • Choose nautical patterns & materials: Opt for items with nautical-inspired designs like blue-and-white stripes, knots, anchors, and waves. Also, choose items made with coastal-inspired materials, such as wicker, rattan, and light-colored wood. Even little details like rattan-wrapped glasses and coasters can go a long way in adding to your coastal ambiance.
  • Display beachy signs: You can never go wrong with themed signs. Placing a beachy-looking “welcome” or “summer vibes” sign on your table can instantly elevate your space and transport your guests to the seashore.

#3: Rainbow

Bringing in bright, happy colors will give your patio the perfect summer vibe! Colorful decorations are especially great for special get-togethers like pool parties, baby showers, or birthday parties.

Here are some tips for decorating your patio in a way that will make your summer days brighter:

  • Decorate the table: When it comes to decorating your table, anything rainbow goes, from signs with feel-good sayings in rainbow lettering to small, rainbow-accented planters.
  • Hang a rainbow pom-pom garland: If you’re looking for an easy way to up the cheerfulness of your patio, look no further than a rainbow pom-pom garland. Hang the garland over the door, between trees, or anywhere else of your choosing.

Hosting Tricks…

Everyone Loves Fruit Pops

Popsicles made with real fruit are a great treat you can prepare in advance and serve at your next patio party. And who says they are just for kids? Check out these two recipes for summer fruit pops, including a boozy recipe for adults!

Keep the Kids Entertained at Your Next Patio Party

With all of these fun ideas for decorating your patio this summer, hosting an outdoor dinner party is undoubtedly on your mind—but what about your children? Dinner parties can leave children bored and, let’s face it, babysitters can be expensive and hard to find.

Thankfully, there are many ways to keep your littlest guests happy all night long. Here are some of our favorite kiddy activities for you to offer at your next patio party:

  • Craft table: Set up a crafts table with art supplies for children and let their imaginations run wild. For a fun take on a tablecloth, use butcher’s paper instead and let the kids draw all over it.
  • Kids only area: Set up a “kids only” area where your young guests can have their own dinner party. This can be a room inside or a separate table outside.
  • Yard games: If you’re having a summer dinner party, there will likely be some daylight left for your guests to enjoy. This is the perfect opportunity to set up lawn games for the children, such as cornhole, Twister, giant Jenga, and ring toss. Board games are another entertaining option for children.
  • Movie night: Set up a movie night inside, complete with pizza, popcorn, drinks, and a kid-friendly flick. This will keep the little ones entertained for an hour or two.

How to Decorate for Easter & Style Eggs

Is anyone else counting down the days till Spring? We’re ready to shake off all the winter doldrums and embrace some warmer weather! And of course, we can’t wait to break out our little chicks, bunnies, and pastel eggs for Easter.

Yes, Easter decor isn’t only for the little ones counting down the days ‘til their big Easter egg hunt. The secret lies in coordinating the details and incorporating Easter items with your personal style.

Here’s a look at what’s inside our themed Easter boxes this year:

How to Elevate Your Easter Table

If you’re looking for a simple way to elevate your dining room or kitchen table, think about ways to reflect the design of your garden (or your dream garden). Bring the freshness of spring inside with a dough bowl tablescape that incorporates color, greenery, and flowers.

Start with a Bowl

Large bowls offer endless opportunities to change out your decor for the seasons. Bright, cheerful spring items will add a festive touch to your Easter home decor.

Incorporate Green Moss

Try lining a dough bowl with faux green moss[1]  for a fresh, seasonal centerpiece and fill it with fun Easter items, like bunnies, eggs, or carrots. If you’re going for a more sophisticated look, switch out the bunnies for a single colored moss arrangement.

Decorate with Only One Item

Don’t have much to work with? Don’t worry about it! Whether your style is farmhouse or boho, a single element can make a significant impact. For example, see how you can achieve a simple, bold statement by filling a bowl with just one element, like a bundle of carrots.

Bundle of Carrots

Now that you have some inspiration, take a look at these simple steps to get started with crafting the perfect Easter centerpiece.

How to Build an Easter Centerpiece

  1. Choose your focal point, which should be something you want to build your centerpiece around.
  2. Select traditional elements such as bunnies or chicks for Easter or more subtle spring designs, like eggs or flowers.
  3. Pick your greenery or filler. This could be small flowers, moss, ferns, or any other type of pretty material you want to use to fill most of the space in the bowl.
  4. Layer in other interesting objects that are smaller than your focal attraction but large enough to add interest and color. A small bird’s nest with colorful eggs, some sprigs of flowers, or small topiaries would work well.

Easter Style Eggs

If you don’t want to use a dough bowl or other large container, you can still have a stunning centerpiece using a tray or wooden board as your base. This option works particularly well if you’re using it on an island or a buffet instead of a table. It’s an easy look to scale up or down, depending on the size of your surface. You can even use a cutting board or cheese board you already have on hand.

Incorporate Candles

Candles make a beautiful addition to a flat centerpiece. Start by arranging your candles and any other large pieces. Several larger bunnies would look great here as well. Next, put some potted plants around the board. Consider using one small pot with Lily of the Valley for a smaller board. Its beautiful, delicate flowers will stand out in a smaller setting.

Choosing the Right Flowers

If you’re using a big board, you may want to go with larger, sturdier spring flowers such as tulips or daffodils. To finish your board, fill in any empty spots with eggs of different sizes. You can use egg shapes made from moss or other neutral materials. To add variety, enclose some of the filler material underneath a small decorative cloche.

Create Easter Egg Garland

Another fun way to bring Easter decor to your table is to create Easter egg garland with beads. Wooden beads bring a neutral color to a garland made from natural colored eggs. You can make one by drilling holes at each end of white or tan plastic eggs and then stringing them in a pattern with the wooden beads. Substituting colored eggs and fun, bright plastic beads will make a garland suitable for a kids’ table. Situate them on one of our tiered trays with surrounding items.

3 Ways to Style Easter Eggs

It wouldn’t be Easter without piles of colorful plastic eggs, a staple in Easter egg hunts. That’s why each of our ReadyFestve Easter themed boxes include eggs this year! Even if you aren’t planning an Easter egg hunt, you can style these eggs in fun ways to add whimsy and color all throughout your house. Let’s explore different, creative ways to style your ReadyFestive eggs.

Style Eggs in a Vase

Fill a clear glass vase with brightly colored eggs to serve as a container for a pretty bouquet of real or artificial Easter flowers. It can also stand on its own as an attention-getting display.

Top Candlesticks with Eggs

You can buy candlesticks specifically for this purpose, or use what you have on hand (Just make sure the top has enough surface area to support an egg). Arrange the candlesticks on your tabletop and add greenery as a base before placing one egg on top of each. This would also look great on a buffet or sideboard.

Incorporate Eggs into Your Centerpiece

Create a centerpiece of elegant eggs that will perfectly match your place settings. For example, a large serving bowl filled with pretty nesting materials and several eggs will look great as the focal point of your Easter dinner table. Smaller bowls or vases filled the same way can be grouped in the center of your table as well.

1. Bringing the Outdoors In

We’ve all felt a little cooped up this past year… This might be why we’re seeing design styles really lean into bringing more of the outdoors in.

Fresh greenery can bring life into a space. Plants are known to purify and improve air quality, and some studies have even shown that they increase productivity and reduce stress.

Along with flowers and plants (real or artificial), certain materials inspired by nature, like wicker, hemp, and wood can be interpreted with baskets, rugs, and lamps. When brought in, these textures can liven up your living room, bathroom, and even your home office.

Our “Modern” themed spring box includes this succulent with an airy sculptural sphere. It looks great added to a coffee table or bookshelf.

We’re bringing in more greenery with preserved moss topiary. Look for these adorable bunnies in our “Neutrals” themed Easter box. They come with a burlap accent bow and rest in a textured stoneware pot – perfect as a table centerpiece, or on your mantle!

RF Decor Tip: Artificial green moss and eggs are a great way to decorate your surfaces for spring and Easter. See how we’ve incorporated eggs this year below:

2. Grandmillennial

You might have noticed the millennial generation’s newfound love for vintage inspired pieces, ruffles, patterns, pleats, and florals. Though this style isn’t new, it sure is seeing a resurgence among 20 to 30 year olds this year.

The grandmillennial trend is making room for more traditional styles, signaling a shift away from minimalism and modernism.

Co-founder and CEO of The Inside, Christiane Lemieux, says “The grandmillennial trend is really a reaction to the generic mid-century interiors we’ve seen for so long.”

For the first time, it might actually be cool to decorate like your grandma.

In the spirit of grandmillennial, our Easter Pastels box features embroidered pillows.

We’re also pulling in more florals for spring, including a warm and colorful patterned pillow and hand towel.

RF Decor Tip: The best way to add in some grandmillennial decor? Throw pillows! Go for a blue and white color scheme to keep it simple and charming. Here’s an example from Sweet Savings & Things

3. Lots of Texture

Texture is sure to be everywhere this year. Play around with different textures by mixing and matching materials. Soft and velvety throws, linen furnishings, cane furniture, woolen rugs, mohair anything — the possibilities are endless.

Getting that balance right between texture and color will be key to hitting all the right notes with your design scheme.

Here’s a sneak peak at our decor for Thanksgiving, featuring a gold pheasant, velvet pumpkins, acorns and other rich textures and patterns.

RF Home Decor Tip: You might have noticed we have an affinity for beads at ReadyFestive. Adding beads to a table top is a great way to pull in texture. You can also wrap them around a vase or set them on top of a tray or stack of books. Many of our Thanksgiving boxes will incorporate wood beads to pull in more natural material, like the ones above.

4. Earthy and Neutral Tones

You might have already noticed that we’re going to be seeing more and more earthy and neutral tones this year. Browns will rule as will shades of green, gray, beige, and off-white, hence the “Woodlands” theme we are including in our Winter box collection

Winter Box Collection

The color palette is very much nature-inspired as we’re opting to bring more of the great outdoors into our living spaces.

A single shade can make or break your design scheme. Try different shades of the same color or mix and match different colors with the same tones. Natural colors can be far from boring!

RF Home Decor Tip: Accentuate your bedroom with brown, green, or beige accents. Cotton stems like these can add a nice touch.

5. Patterns and Prints

Floral, botanical, and animal prints will continue to be popular.

Mod and retro styles as well as big and bold patterning are expected to rise in demand. You may want to pass on geometric prints like chevron and lattice. Design experts predict that these are on their way out.

We’re so excited for you to see what we’ve chosen for our summer boxes this year, especially if you like color. We’re pulling in bright patterns and prints through items like these, which will be part of our “Rainbow” themed box:

RF Home Decor Tip:

Mixing and matching prints and patterns can be a little tricky and maybe even overwhelming… The good thing is that there are pattern matching basics that can help.
